![]() ![]() JAWBREAKER UPDATE... 3/19/12 Good news and Bad news... The GOOD NEWS is that our Jawbie found a wonderful new family to live with. He is happily living with Andi and her other rescued pets in Columbus, WI. Andi fell in love with Jawbie when she cared for him at the Spay-Me Clinic during and after his extensive surgery. She just had to have him. He rules her house, loves to go for car rides and is best friends with a pooch ˜ go figure! MORE GOOD NEWS ˜ YOUR DONATIONS paid for the surgery that Jawbie needed so desperately ˜ from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!!! The BAD NEWS is that the surgery to repair the split in the roof of his mouth has failed. Due to the deformed sinuses, massive scar tissue and chronic upper respiratory infections, Jawbie needs to be on Azithromycin, a special antibiotic, for at least 6 months before surgery can be considered. His dental surgeon will need to insert pins and wires in the roof of Jawbie’s mouth in order to repair the damage, but Jawbie’s condition has to be top notch for him to endure that extensive surgery. The BAD NEWS is that surgeon has moved to Pennsylvania ˜ BUT the GOOD NEWS is that he is willing to fly back here to do the surgery this fall! The BAD NEWS is the antibiotics are going to cost about $250 over the next several months, and Andi is currently unemployed. The GOOD NEWS is that we trust someone can help us cover that cost for Jawbie so he can get well enough for his next surgery. As time draws closer for the surgery, we will get estimates on the cost to bring back the dental surgeon and have the surgery. Jawbreaker has endured so much pain and suffering at the hands of some deranged human. But he has a heart of gold, has forgiven humans, and gives 100% of his love every day to Andi and her furry friends. Please help keep his love alive... Marie Glover, Exec. Dir. Tabby Town USA, Inc. Tabby Town USA, Inc. is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue shelter located between Westby and Coon Valley in Western Wisconsin. Tabby Town USA was started in 2003. Since opening our doors, we've rescued over 1,200 and adopted out an amazing 85% "Want to see our current rescue/adoption numbers by year? New Therapy Cat Program We take a cat (or several cats if we get enough volunteers) to a nursing home, assisted living facility, or hospital, and let the residents hold and pet the cats. A happy Ditto can be seen below. ⇓ We rescue orphaned kittens, special-case cats, abused, neglected and unwanted cats, and, as space permits, cats on death row from other shelters. All cats at Tabby Town USA are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They receive age-appropriate vaccinations, are de-wormed and litterbox trained. All of the cats have been tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Aids). They are socialized by loving volunteers and then adopted to their forever homes. Tabby
Town USA, Inc. believes in cat behavioral training instead of declawing,
and asks that adopters not declaw their Tabby Town kitties.
However, we occasionally have cats for adoption that have been previously
declawed. We understand
that for every kitten born, there are innocent cats being euthanized.
We believe that we are the voices for those unable to speak, and it is
up to us to educate people to spay and neuter their animals to prevent
unwanted litters. Donations to Tabby Town USA |
