ADOPTION INFORMATION:

To date, Tabby Town USA has adopted out over 125 cats to good homes. Currently there are 45 cats at Tabby Town USA. 10 of those cats are permanent residents, and 35 are up for adoption to good homes. The cats all live in Ted & Marie’s house. There are cages for the cats who want them; otherwise they are all free to roam about the home.

All cats are treated and vaccinated at the Coulee Mobile Veterinary Clinic. The cats are tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, or Feline AIDS) and FeLV (Feline Leukemia) prior to their introduction to the rest of the clan at Tabby Town USA. All cats/kittens over 4 pounds are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, receive their first Distemper and Rabies vaccinations, are dewormed, treated for ear mites and fleas if needed, and litterbox trained. If a kitten is adopted prior to being spayed or neutered, the new “parents” receive a Spay/Neuter Verification form which can be used at the Coulee Mobile Veterinary Clinic with no charge for the procedure. If used at other Veterinary Clinics, the form is good for $40 towards the cost of the procedure.

Our adoption fee is $85, which covers the out-of-pocket costs for the above mentioned. Tabby Town USA does their best to match personalities between the adopter and the cat. Support is offered 24 hours a day to the adopters. However, Tabby Town USA recognizes that sometimes there are circumstances where the new cat isn’t able to fit in at their new home, therefore there is a money-back guarantee for the first 5 days after adoption. After the 5 day period, the cat will always be welcome back at Tabby Town USA if needed.

Tabby Town USA has a STRICT policy AGAINST DECLAWING any Tabby Town cats. Adopters sign a contract stating they will not declaw their new pet. Information on alternatives to declawing are provided and adopters will be taught how to trim the cat’s claws.

We also have ideal residents looking to live at horse stables or barns. Healthy, sterilized cats & kittens that are very friendly, some semi-wild, are in need of homes at a farm, horse stable, or other suitable outdoor environment with shelter. All the cats have been sterilized and vaccinated against Rabies, and now need an outdoor home where they can live out their lives peacefully.

Caretaker responsibilities include: Providing daily food and water, protection from the elements, and long-term veterinary care. Did you know, it' s a...

MYTH: Barn cats eat mice and do not need to be fed – wrong!
FACT: Well-fed cats will still hunt rodents – it’s in their nature!

Be prepared for a brief period of adjustment. Moving to a new home is stressful for anyone, cats included! After a short stay in secure confinement, the cats will accept their new home and be chasing mice out of your grain with enthusiasm.

Guidance and help will be provided during the relocation process.
